Building Change Capabilities

From new business strategies to reorgs and digital transformations: teams are expected to adapt again and again. But how do you keep people engaged when roles are shifting, systems are changing, and the next transformation is already on the horizon?

Without internal change capability muscle there is a high chance the same patterns keep showing up: resistance, change fatigue, slipping back into old habits. Innovation stalls, culture feels strained, and leaders find themselves repeating the same message without results.

That’s why future-fit companies treat transformation like a skill. Something to build, train, and strengthen over time.

A pragmatic approach to navigate through transformation

At LQ, we don’t just help you deliver a change program. We help you build the internal capability to keep changing. We work across the full line, from strategy to execution, and our focus is simple: making change stick.

Here’s how we do it:

Make the invisible visible

Through our organisational and program scans, we uncover the few things that matter most: your real gainers (where energy is already flowing) and drainers (hidden blockers that slow progress).

Work side by side

We create programs, workshops, and interventions together, always grounded in your business context so your teams build skills while making real progress on real challenges. Your people learn by doing, not by watching.

Learn to do it yourself

We call this reverse consulting: training and certifying your leaders and change enablers, so the approach becomes part of your DNA, not a dependency on us.

“This approach helps organisations move beyond the old “70% of change fails belief. It turns transformation into a repeatable process, grounded in data, clear KPIs, and continuous learning.”

2 tracks that build the muscle (for both change leaders & enablers)

As said, we build capability by working directly with your organisation’s real data. That’s why both of our tracks start with your scans. From day one, leaders use their own results to apply tools, spot blockers, and take action in their actual business context.

🦸‍♀️ Capability building track for leaders

→ Turn insight into action.

This track equips MT and BU leaders to understand their organisation’s Six Batteries scan, connect the dots between business and culture, and translate insight into clear, focused action.

What the journey looks like:

  • Kick-off & Awareness

Leaders are introduced to the Six Batteries of Change, an evidence-based method for implementing change in organisations, and complete a short readiness scan to create a shared baseline.

  • Module 1: Change Management

Leaders learn how to interpret their own Six Batteries scan, identify the gainers (energy to build on) and drainers (blockers to remove), and turn these into a concrete 3-to-6-month action plan, built around their real business context.

  • Module 2: Culture

Using the Barrett Culture Values Assessment, leaders explore current versus desired values, learn how to work on possible cultural entropy, and design a focused culture action plan that links directly back to the Six Batteries scan

  • Coaching

Targeted, practical coaching sessions help leaders maintain momentum, address challenges, and translate learning into daily leadership behaviours.

Leaders don’t leave with theory or a slide deck. They leave with a data-driven action plan and the confidence to lead transformation in their own teams, supported by ongoing coaching from LQ to help them navigate challenges and keep momentum.

Building change capabilities

💛 Capability building track for enablers

→ Make change stick, all the way to the last mile.

This track is designed for program and project leads, change agents, and enablers who play a critical role in translating strategy into adoption. The goal: set programs up for success and build the internal capability to make change land — and last.

What the journey looks like:

  • Kick-off & Program Scan

The journey starts with a program readiness scan to pinpoint where energy is strong and where friction may slow progress. The data shapes the focus areas and key interventions for the track ahead.

  • Module 1: Leader-Led Change

Enablers learn how to create urgency and a compelling change story, set the right conditions for success, and clarify roles and responsibilities. The focus is on building real commitment across the organisation.

  • Module 2: Change Adoption Activation

This module dives deep into the adoption process — understanding the phases of change, anticipating resistance, and activating stakeholders at the right moments. Participants apply tools directly to their own programs so new ways of working take hold.

  • Coaching & Key Interventions

On-demand coaching and targeted interventions help enablers navigate challenges, accelerate behavioural change, and sustain business impact long after the program ends.

Enablers leave with a practical roadmap and the confidence to act, supported by LQ to make change stick from launch to adoption.

Building change capabilities

The turning point: from change effort to change impact

Organisations that go through our capability building tracks often describe it as a turning point. It gives leaders and enablers a shared language, confidence, and clarity on how to lead change themselves.

In a world where transformation often stalls, where teams slip back into old habits and big plans fade into PowerPoint decks, capability building gives organisations the foundation they need. From global energy companies to leading service providers, those who invest in their internal change muscle see real results: stronger ownership, faster adoption, and programs that deliver lasting impact.

→ See how a global energy company built change capabilities across 18 business units, and made transformation part of the way they work.
